Halloween- "ZooBoo"

We decided to go to the zoo to celebrate Halloween!  Gabby took her job as a ladybug very seriously and rarely smiled for us :(  We had a great time people watching and the highlight of the night was watching three monkeys play with  a baby monkey!

We ended the night with Grandma and Grandpa Lopez.  They were so excited to spend Gabby's first Halloween with her!

Two Cute Videos!

Here is a video of Gabby singing and sitting up all by herself!

Watch closely on this one!  I think Gabby might really understand when we are talking to her!

"Punkin" Patch

My "Hoosier-ness" must have rubbed off on Tony, because he now refers to pumpkins as "punkins".  It truly is adorable every time he says it!  Makes me smile.

We picked out two pumpkins for Tony and me and a small pumpkin for Gabby.  Tony really wanted to carve his pumpkin, so I agreed to carve one, too!

Can you guess which one belongs to Tony?!?  I must say that the above picture does look quite similar to his pumpkin!

Gabby is 5 months old...well she was three weeks ago!

So, I am incredibly late on getting these pics out. A lot has happened in a month (and a half)!  Gabby can now roll from back to stomach and then back to her back.  She can even sit up for a few seconds!  She has started to push herself backward from one end of the family room rug to the other, so I'm sure that crawling is in our near future.

We have been trying to get Gabby to eat cereal for the last two months and have been quite unsuccessful.  We decided to skip cereal altogether and start on solids.  So far, we have tried bananas, sweet potatoes, and peas.  Of course, she loved the bananas, hated the sweet potatoes, and tolerated the peas.  Squash is next, so wish us luck!  Clearly she is not malnourished.  If I had to guess, she is 16 lbs., at the very least.  Gabby has also started drinking from a sippy cup.  Most of it ends up running down her shirt, but at least she has figured out the sucking part!

Gabby is really starting to develop a personality!  She will smile at most strangers and lets nearly anyone hold her.  We did go through a rough couple of weeks where she was attached to Tony and I, but I think we have conquered it for the time being.  She is generally a happy baby and can entertain herself by mearly staring at her hands.  She loves to sing...wonder who she gets that from?!?  She hasn't started using consonants, but she seems to favor her "ah's".  Tony continues to train her many hours per day on "da da"!
